WELCOME to my home page of a quirky journal on the new season in my life. I’m a mom whose daughter married this summer and my youngest child just left for college. Truth is I love being a mom and I'm fully aware life is going to be quite different around here now, and frankly I’m not sure what that all means yet. I'm pretty sure he'll do just fine. But I'd like to believe he still needs his dad and mom for just a while longer, right? Hope he comes home once in a blue moon for chocolate chip peanut butter cookies, and if he wants to bring a new friend or two along with him, that’s mighty fine with me ! And if he wants to sit himself up on the kitchen counter like he used to and talk with me, joke around, and share a few thoughts now and then - he can talk about anything he wants ‘cause I have all the time in the world for that ... again.  And I hope our daughter and new husband will come to visit often, too.  It's mighty quiet around here ... a little too quiet if you ask me.  

Well, there are some things around here that won’t change. We bought a horse pasture 15 years ago and decided to make this beautiful spot our home. You can come along with me while I garden, and then help figure out how to trim recipes down for my hubby and I. I’m thinking about getting a dog, but the cat may have a hissy fit over that and leave, too. Just kidding ! Sort of …
